1. The Magic Bean EmporiumIMG_1738
Every Harry Potter fan’s dream! The Magic Bean Emporium is a Harry Potter and fantasy themed café on St Giles Street right in the middle of town centre. They sell ice cream and cake too, as well as afternoon tea. It’s a cosy, fun place to go for a coffee. The café was set up in 2014 by children’s author Michella Dos Santos.

This café sells the best cakes I’ve seen. Gorgeously decorated and mouth-wateringly tasty, they will tempt anyone into trying a bite. Also on offer here is a wide range of lunch options such as paninis, toasties, and salads. They’re kid friendly, but the play area is upstairs so if you’re looking for a quite sit down with friends, this works for you too. They also won the SME Northamptonshire New Business of the Year award in 2016.

  3. The Good Loaf

A beautiful, friendly café that helps female offenders to ‘break the cycle of poverty, unemployment and offending.’ If you don’t feel like sitting down for a drink, they sell freshly baked bread, as well as baking kits, jams, and other baked delights to take away. The café won the Local Food Hero award at the Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2015/16.
  4. Dreams Coffee LoungeThis little café is all about quality. Their tea and coffee come from Blenders, an independent tea and coffee merchant just a few doors down. Their food is freshly prepared, locally sourced, and absolutely delicious. They serve everything from hearty breakfasts such as Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon or their signature fry up, a ‘dreams breakfast.’ They also do a wonderful, dainty afternoon tea.
  5. The Plump PartridgeA cute, comfy café in Northampton’s Market Square. Not only do they serve artizan coffee, but homemade pizzas and flatbreads, as well as speciality teas. The café is warm and welcoming, and a great place to stop off for some lunch.
