While you may not naturally associate Northampton and music, the town has a thriving music scene.
Northampton has an abundance of great venues that various musicians have played in for decades.
The Roadmender is a nightclub, turned live music venue, in the heart of the town. For almost 20 years it has been the major venue for live music in the town. Performances include Biffy Clyro, Deftones and The Maccabees – to name a few.
Thomas A Becket
This pub is named after Thomas Becket who was imprisoned at Northampton castle. The 17th century pub now offers live music three times a week; Wednesday Band Jam, Saturday Live Bands, and Sunday- Jam Curry Sunday with a house band and guest singer each week.
The Picturedrome, otherwise known as ‘The Drome’, showcases music from rock to opera, local to national and international bands and artists. The venue, originally Northampton’s first cinema, can be found in Kettering Road.
O’Neill’s Northampton is situated on The Drapery. The lively bar often has live music ranging from Irish Folk to Indie bands.
The King Billy Rock Bar
Last but not least, The King Billy Rock Bar. The King Billy gets 10/10 for their live music. The bar has live music every night, showcasing established and up-and-coming rock bands.
